Friends

Friends are often there to teach you a lesson

That’s why they often come and go

I remember a lot of friends I used to have

None of which I still know.

Friends are often there for you

Then they are often not

Painful memories I used to hold onto

Though most now I have forgot.

Friends are often kind to you

But they often change just as fast

Someone you trusted secrets with

Was someone you miscast.

Friends often feel like they’ll stay the same forever

Then they often turn into someone new

You’ll feel guilty for leaving them behind

Until you realize they were just someone you outgrew.
